Downers Grove, IL – Working with strategic partners, Upp Technology is supporting the State of Indiana, Department of Workforce Development in their mission “to ensure Indiana employers have a competitive and flexible workforce” with the continuing maintenance and enhancement of critical mainframe systems, including the Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Tax Benefits system. This system is used to bill, collect and account for hundreds of millions of dollars in payroll and taxes each year.

Providing staff augmentation services, Upp Technology has been responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the system and other associated programs, including designing and developing new processes to increase agency productivity and effectiveness. This included the successful and rapid development of new, complicated functionality of the UI and Tax Benefits system in response to legislative mandates. The new features have decreased employer default rates, made accounting more accurate and increased state revenues by hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

As part of the UI engagement, Upp Technology subject matter experts working on premise at the State have been integral to all aspects of UI system support, including life cycle development of enterprise systems enhancements from gathering the requirements to writing the program specs and developing, testing, implementing and supporting the applications. The team is additionally responsible for performance analysis and optimization, and providing continuing 24x7 support for these core systems.
